The Catholic Diocese of Yei yesterday launched its silver jubilee at St. Joseph Parish in Lutaaya, the ancient mother church of the diocese.
The jubilee was launched under the theme “Services with the Power of the Cross”, Easter Radio reported.Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe of Yei said during the Eucharist that the church in Yei grew in number, faith and quality for the last 25 years.
The bishop encouraged unity among the Christians and the clergy, adding that the faithful should not abandon their Catholic faith despite many challenges.
Bishop Lodu called for respect and unity from fellow Christians from other faiths.
The celebration of the silver jubilee, which was launched yesterday, will continue in all parishes until November.
