The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement for Democratic Change (SPLM-DC) is to change headquarters and re-structure its administration.

The two-year old party was operating from Khartoum, Bakhita Radio reported.

SPLM-DC chairman Onyoti Adigo told the press this morning that his party would move its headquarters to Juba after the official declaration of the independence of South Sudan on July 9, 2011.

He said the SPLM-DC formed a taskforce to allow party members to take part in the major meetings with the government, NGOs and international representatives.

Mr. Adigo said the SPLM-DC may change its name after independence.

He explained that since South Sudan is a liberated state it does not make sense to call the party Sudan People’s Liberation Movement.

Mr. Adigo revealed that his party stands for good governance, democratic transformation, respect to the rule of law and good service delivery to the people of South Sudan.
