More than 30 women graduated yesterday after micro-business training in Juba.

Lucy Akello, the adviser of Women Self Help Organization, told Bakhita Radio that 36 women received training on tailoring, food processing and other small businesses.

Mama Akello explained that 17 women received training on tailoring while 19 learned other activities.

Mama Akello blamed the Islamic sharia for keeping women away from business, saying that only after the CPA did some women appear in the markets across South Sudan.

She assured that in five years time the number of women doing businesses will increase across the region.

Mama Akello said her organization would assist the trainees with capital and provide information where to start their business.

Women Self Help Organization has already trained 280 women in business management.
