Priests belonging to the Apostles of Jesus received training in financial accountancy and management of projects.

Faciliator Pamela Igara from the Nairobi University told Good News Radio that the workshop focused on book keeping, accounts and accountability, proposal writing and reporting, explaining that priests also implement projects that involve handling money.

She added that the priests are also managers of different programmes in their own parishes and they need to know how to run them.

The first members of the Congregation of the Apostles of Jesus started working in Rumbek Diocese in 1996.

The Congregation was founded in 1968 at Moroto, Uganda, by two Comboni Missionaries: Bishop Sisto Mazzoldi and Fr. John Marengoni.

It has about 400 priests and brothers working in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Sudan, Ethiopia, Botswana, South Africa, Europe and America.
