Homeless people living rough in Juba called on the authorities to help them.

SCR News heard the voices of homeless people living near the mosque and the post office in Juba Town.

Asunta Juan, who suffers from leprosy, said the government should look into the horrific conditions the homeless live and come to their rescue.

She said if their suffering pains the government, the authorities should look into ways to help the homeless.

Blind Pieri na Wasuk Wani said she has no shelter nor food.

She added that the homeless depends on the mercy of people with good will.

Kapuki Kenyi said the government should come to their help and give them food and shelter.

She added that the homeless are poor and people look at them as a disgrace.

Luga Bakua said authorities should give support for those who want to leave Juba and return to their villages.

He added that if one goes to where he or she belongs they can be able to help themselves and contribute to the development in the area.

Many of the homeless people in Juba Town said they were displaced from their original villages through local conflicts.
