The period to present objections to the voter registration in South Kordofan opened yesterday.
Kumbur Payam administrator Kuku Dorod told Voice of Peace Radio that the objection of voter names started yesterday and lasts for three days.Mr. Dorod said that over 20,000 people registered in his constituency.
Mr. Dorod added there are six objection centres out of 30 voter registration centres.
Zachariah Suleman, who heads the electoral commission in Heiban County, said there were problems with voters’ names published by the commission in Kadugli.
Mr. Dorod said some enemies of the peace took over 2,000 names from the lists for Heiban South and added 5,000 to Heiban Central.
He added that the lists were already corrected.
Mr. Dorot remarked that the mistakes were intentional and affected all the constituencies in the State but they were solved.
He urged registered voters to go to the objection centres to check whether their names they are correct.
The South Kordofan elections are scheduled for May 2, 2011.
