The SPLM-DC chief in Central Equatoria State said leaders in south Sudan should serve a period of five years in office.

Yeka Peter told SCR News that the constitutional review committee should clearly look into the limit of terms of office for politicians.

He added that five years is a normal term of office worldwide.

Mr. Yeka added that the new fundamental law should assure freedom of expression.

He added that the role of the army must be clearly spelt out in the Constitution since the SPLA is not an army for the SPLM but for south Sudan.

Mr. Yeka suggested that South Sudan should have a president and a prime minister to share power among all political parties.
