SOUTH SUDAN PAYS SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO KENYA

South Sudan authorities paid special tribute to Kenya for its support during the 12 years of peace negotiations and the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.

GoSS vice president Riek Machar Teny told a high level Kenyan delegation visiting Juba that the people of South Sudan recognises the support they got from Kenya during the peace talks between 1993 and 2005.

Dr. Machar said other countries tried to host the peace negotiations but they gave up.

The vice-president thanked Kenya for all its support during the implementation of the peace agreement.

The Kenyan delegation, headed by Vice-president Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, returned today to Nairobi.
