Yei River County education director issued an order on Monday closing down three private secondary schools for operating in unfitting buildings.
Justine Lumori told Easter Radio said the schools were closed temporarily adding that the owners have the chance to construct permanent structures if they want to operate the schools.Mr. Lumori said the students attending the closed schools can be transferred to the government institutions.
Mr. Lumori added that the closure of the schools did not come as a surprise since the owners were given several warnings to restructure the buildings to no avail.
He urged all private investors who want to run private schools to see the county education department first and stick to the guidelines about school buildings.
The schools which are closed are Bright Horizon, Nile High and Yei Town College.
