Eastern Equatoria government spent over 500 thousand US Dollars to renovate Torit Civil Hospital.

Health minister Felix Makuja told Emmanuel Radio that the renovation of the hospital was an expensive project.

Three wards were fitted with glass windows, tiled floors, flash toilets and sewage system.

Mr. Makuja said the work done clearly shows that it was value for money.

The minister said the money for the renovation came from the state government and development partners through the Multi-Donors Trust Fund.

Mr. Makuja explained that renovation works were carried out on three wards and the operating theatre.

A block for AIDS Voluntary Testing and Counselling, and pit latrines were added to the health facility.

Six months ago, Torit hospital had no functioning toilets and the buildings were in a very poor state. The hospital now looks like a real heath facility regaining strength.
