Over one hundred heads of cattle have been raided on Tuesday from Iloli Village of Torit County in Eastern Equatoria State, according to Justine Cleophas Takuru Torit Central Police Inspector.

He said the chief of Iloli area reported the issue and has opened a case against the raiders to be followed by the county authorities.

‘There were cattle raided from Iloli village. It was on the 31st of last month. For them they believe that the people from Hiyala raided their cows and the chief came and opened a case and we put an action in order to arrest the suspect. It is a criminal offense which needs a force in order to arrest the suspect now we have raised the case waiting for the results to come to us may be on Monday. The order will come for the forces to go and see what happened to the cows’, the inspector explained.

Cleophas revealed that one suspect, who was injured during the incident and brought to Torit Hospital for medication, will help the authority in the investigation process.

‘The complainer said their cattle are one hundred and fifty this is what they told us. The case will go like that even if he said there are a lot of cattle, it depends on the report given to us. We shall investigate the case of the complainer; one person was injured and was brought to the hospital for medication. He is a young man of about 25 years who is currently in the hospital, we have registered this person as a suspect, he is now under our custody, we shall investigate him and get information whether he was with these people or not’, he said.

The Police inspector stated that authorities have been sent to the ground to gather more information over the raid.

In a related incident, Cleophas reported the dead of a blocker who was working in Torit market.

‘Yesterday at around 8 o’clock the chief of Shejera Salaam gave us a phone call that they found a dead body under a car we went there and got the person dead, the person is called Ali Halil, he is from Darfur, Sudan so he is working here in the market as a blocker and we went and checked on the body and found he was not injured according to the analysis our investigator and we took him to the hospital so we are waiting for the general result and now the body is at the postmortem, it might be normal dead, but the result from the hospital will be the one to give us evidence’, he disclosed.
