Women Association distributes Sanitary kits to female prisoners in Wau

Women Association in partnership with United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS Civil Affairs office in Wau, has distributed 20 hygienic kits to females in Wau Central Prison for their self precautions against coronavirus.
 
Association Chairperson, Bhaja Mohammed Amin told Voice of Hope Radio that the aim was to disseminate the preventive measures of the deadly virus to the female prisoners and how they can protect themselves.
 
‘We need to maintain self hygiene to ensure our safety and that of others’, she elaborated.
 
Bahja urged women prisoners to regularly wash their hands with soap, avoid hugging, assembling of more than two people in one place, handshaking and social distancing.
 
She added that, if there is any suspected case of person with a flue, cough or difficulty in breathing, should be reported to the prison administration.
 
UNMISS Civil Affairs officer, Nakitende Samantha called on female prisoners not to lose hope in life, but learn from it and be a better person.
 
She urged the women prisoners to implement the preventive measures of corona virus.
 
The Officials made the statement to Voice of Hope Radio on Friday in Wau Central Prison.
