A journalists’ union organized a half-day forum between journalists and business people to engage the media in addressing key issues of trade in south Sudan.
Bongiri Peter, secretary general of South Sudan Union of Journalists, told SCR News that there is a wide gap between media and the business sector in south Sudan.He noted that the forum intended to bring the two groups together so that they can be of effective use to each other.
Mr. Bongiri added that the post-referendum period might carry many challenges and a good relationship between the two groups would help addressing difficulties.
The forum, which will be held every year, came up with a plan that will be presented to the government so that media and business sectors can be linked in promoting each other.
