Voting in Greater Bahr el Ghazal has been impressive, the referendum bureau chief said.

Chan Reec Madut visited Lakes, Western and Northern Bahr el Ghazal and Warrap states and said he was impressed with what he saw.

Justice Reec said people were dancing, singing and crying with happiness at the polling centres.

The Referendum Bureau chief added that there were some problems with the transport of voters in Tonj East, Warrap State, and in some places of Northern Bahr el Ghazal.

He added that officials were pulling together local resources to move voters and there was no need for an extension of voting period beyond Saturday.

Justice Reec planned to visit Greater Upper Nile today but called the tour off to receive Mohamed Ibrahim Khalil his boss from Khartoum who is in Juba until the end of the vote.
