Attacks against civilians continue to take place in Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile areas while the country is undergoing turmoil, says Nubsud Human Rights Monitors Organisation.

The organization in its report covering April and June 2019, says many human rights violations occurred in Delami County, Nuba Mountains of Southern Kordofan region.

The report points out that almost all attacks were perpetrated by the Sudan Armed Forces rather than by the Rapid Support Forces or the Popular Defence Forces’.

It explains that civilians in Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile areas have not noticed any meaningful change following the toppling of Al-Bashir and the struggle for power between the Transitional Military Council and civilian opposition forces.

The report also clarifies that there were more human rights violations incidents perpetrated by the Sudan government in the two Areas during the first six months of 2019, compared to the prior two years.

Similarly, as a result, there were more people injured and killed during the first six months of 2019 than during the last six months of 2018.

Nubsud Human Rights Monitors Organisation has been monitoring violations committed against civilians in Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile since the conflict began in 2011.
