The Malakal Catholic apostolic administrator prayed for peace during and after the referendum period.

Monsignor Roko Taban Mousa told the congregation on Sunday to maintain peace during and after the voting period, Voice of Love reported.

Mgrs Taban appealed to southerners to liberate themselves by voting for freedom but warned them never to use violence and revenge against the previous oppressors.

He said the independence of Southern Sudan must give southerners peace and freedom in the region.

Mgrs Taban urged southerners to bury all the bad feelings or sufferings they experienced in the past.

He called upon all southerners to walk out for freedom and cast their votes in their polling centres.
