The first-born of late John Garang said he is living the vote for independence with mixed feelings because the people from the three marginalized areas of Abyei, Nuba Mountains and South Blue Nile were excluded from the plebiscite.
Mabior Garang told SCR News that he was happy for the referendum for independence but felt sad the three areas that are also part of New Sudan cOULD not vote.Mr. Garang told Southern Sudanese to remain united.
He added that the South had the right to manage its own affairs as it wanted.
Mr. Garang said that separation was not easy.
He added that when a couple divorces they will miss some parts of each other and part of South Sudan’s history lies in the North.
