Four million ballot papers have been printed so far for the referendum vote and many more will be ready soon, the plebiscite authorities said.

Southern Sudan Referendum Bureau Chairman Chan Reec told the press this morning in Juba that the ballot papers would reach south Sudan within one week well in time for the vote.

Justice Reec added that the January 9 date is supreme although the Bureau still battles with funding challenges.

Justice Reec asserted that training for voting officials has already started and it is expected to end soon.

Justice Reec noted that until yesterday more than 3 million people had enrolled to vote in January.

His report also indicated that more than 58 thousand south Sudanese registered in the Diaspora and in some places registration was still going on.

Justice Reec was today’s guest at the GoSS Ministry of Communications’ Press Forum.
