A SPLM official called upon mediators to give serious attention to the Sudan saying the country is at the climax of the peace agreement amid general political paralysis.

Spokesperson Yan Matthew made this comment after an NCP and SPLM meeting on post-referendum negotiations was postponed yesterday because AU negotiators were not available.

Mr. Yan told SCR News that it could have been better if the mediators gave serious attention to the current political situation.

He added that the postponement of the meeting was very dangerous at such a time.

Despite having a full plate with tasks at hand, Sudan’s top African Union mediators Thabo Mbeki and Djibril Bassole headed to Ivory Coast after presidential elections there created a major dispute with two candidates being sworn in as president.
