The capital of Western Bahr el Ghazal is the city that has more children living in its streets.
GoSS Minister for Gender, Child and Social Welfare, Agnes Kweaje Lasuba, told the press earlier in the week that there are thousands of street children in South Sudan and Wau had the majority: up to 1000 of them.Ms. Kwaje said that Malakal had also some 500 street children.
She said poverty and famine were the reasons bringing kids to the streets.
Ms. Kwaje said the government was putting in place focal points for street children.
She explained that social workers would identify the families of the kids living in the streets to reunite them.
