An SPLM official said he was optimistic over the registration turn up for the referendum scheduled to take place within 31 days.

Alfred Ladu Gore is GoSS Presidential Adviser for Diplomatic Affairs. He told Bakhita Radio that he was pleased with the turn up of the registration for the referendum vote.

Mr. Gore however lamented poor service to the registration officials.

He explained that he was impressed to see lactating mothers and older people stand on the queue for many hours in order to register their names.

Mr. Gore was speaking after visiting registration centres in Central Equatoria state.

The registration for the referendum officially ended today with over two million people registered in southern Sudan.
