A Catholic catechist added his voice appealing for eligible voters in South Sudan to come to referendum centres to register and take part in the upcoming vote on self-determination.
Isaac Mcirine Machut is a catechist in Rumbek diocese. He told Good News Radio that it was a civic duty for citizens to register and vote.Mr. Machut added that the land is appealing to those aged 18 and over to register and vote for liberation.
Mr. Machut prayed to God to enable people to vote freely and without intimidation.
He asked God to bless and deliver the people of South Sudan from slavery saying that they have already had their share of punishment.
Mr. Machut also prayed for new communities and more priests and for the young to know God’s call to the ministry to change traditional ways.
Mr. Machut made these statements following a prayer march for peace in Rumbek Catholic Cathedral.
