Eastern Equatoria State Legislative Assembly resumed today its sessions.
Speaker Ambrose Ocholimoi said the Assembly started deliberations today because there was much work that needed to be done before Christmas holiday, Emmanuel Radio reported.Top on the list of issues to be discussed by the House are policy statements from various ministries and the budget for 2011.
Speaker Ocholimoi said the policy statements and the budget should be passed quickly.
The Speaker recalled that MPs and government officials were sent on November 13 to their constituencies to mobilize citizens for registration.
Eastern Equatoria Parliament opened officially on Thursday but the number of members who turned up could not make the quorum for the sitting and deliberations were postponed for today.
