Viable Support to Transition and Stability or VISTAS on Tuesday handed over the newly constructed Rumbek Youth ICT Hub to the Administration of Radio Good News under the Catholic Diocese.
The hub is expected to empower youth with skills in computer and peace messages through social media.
Radio Good News Acting Director, Luka Gumwel Chol Makuei says the center will be used for conducting dialogues and seminars.
Gumwel says the project came as a result of the initiative done by late former Director with the Diocese and AECOM.
He assures donors and partners of the sustainability of the project.
The Acting Director says little money that will be generated from the facility will be used for its maintenance.
Richard Obuoya, VISTAS Regional Coordinator, says the ICT hub was purposely brought to change youth mentality from conflict and hate speech to development.
He urges Rumbek youth to take the advantage of the resource center and use it for the purpose of learning.
There are other pending projects between the Diocese of Rumbek and EACOM which VISTAS is still working on them, Obuoya discloses.
The Resource Center was constructed in February this year with support from VISTAS and funding from USAID.
