Referendum voter registration is improving in some areas in Eastern Equatoria while other places still experience challenges.

Eastern Equatoria High State Referendum Committee Outreach officer, Mary William Juwa, told the press that turn-up keeps on increasing since Monday when only few people registered, Emmanuel Radio reported.

Ms. Juwa said the range of people turning for registration doubled from Monday to Tuesday.

Ms. Juwa said people living in uphill country had many problems to reach referendum centres.

She explains mobile centres would go to the mountains after completing registration in low areas.

Ms. Juwa said that some people refused to register because their political candidates failed in the April elections.

She explained that referendum is different form the elections because it comes once in a life-time.

Torit, Lafon/Lopa, Budi and Kapoeta County areas are not easily accessed by registration officers.
