A lunar eclipse in the Sudan led citizens to shoot in the air randomly at mid-night on Monday across Hieban County of the Nuba Mountains.
The eclipse was partial and lasted for five hours and one minute.
According to Sudan time, the hide started at 6:50 PM and ended at 11:50 PM.
Traditionally, people beat drums including other objects and lit fires in an eclipse situation.
But during the recent one, shooting has become a common practice.
The last lunar eclipse in Sudan was in 2010 that lasted for four hours and eleven minutes.
