The Parish Priest of Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral in Torit is cautioning the public against cutting trees around the church compound.

Fr Jackino Lomogo says many people intimidate concerned Christians using guns when they are asked to stop cutting trees around the church, Radio Emmanuel reports.

Fr Lomogo notes that trees are important for people to interact in their environment.

The church requests Christians to protect the environment for future generations, he asks.

Trees at St Peter and Paul Cathedral were planted by the ancestors and their work should be respected, he adds.
