Medical staff working at Tuberculosis Ward in Yei Civil hospital has reported back for work after meeting with the commissioner over delayed salaries.
The medical staff went on strike on Monday demanding their October wages, Easter Radio reported.Yei River County Commissioner David Lokonga Moses said the issue of the delayed salary was sorted out in the meeting and his office was waiting for a check from the Finance Office in Juba to pay the salaries.
Mr. Lokonga advised the staff to use better ways of address issues than the strike due to their sensitive area of work.
Grace Kiden, in charge of Yei Civil Hospital TB Ward, said the medical staff was resuming the work to attend four serious cases.
TB medical staff discussed with the Yei commissioner poor cooperation with the administration of the l hospital, limited manpower and salary delays.
There are over fifty patients in the TB Ward at Yei Civil Hospital.
Malteser International handed over the TB programme it was running in Yei to GoSS Ministry of Health in June 2010.
