The cancellation of the visit of Pope Francis to South Sudan should be taken in respect and prayer, President of Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference SCBC appeals to South Sudanese.
Bishop Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala in a statement Tuesday says the reasons could be beyond speculations and above challenges the country is undergoing.
He says Pope Francis is very particularly about the welfare of the suffering people in South Sudan and the world.
Bishop Hiiboro says the Pope is showing compassion and love for the marginalized, those who have suffered, and those who caused suffering and seek redemption.
The Pontiff continues to remind people of South Sudan of the costs of war, particularly on the powerless and urges people to work for peace, SCBC president reiterates.
Surely the visit of the Holy Father could familiarize the nation to the whole world, the Bishop believes.
He adds that it could uplift the faith, raise the expectation, unify people and restore peace in South Sudan.
The President of SCBC prays that may the grace of Jesus Christ continue to inspire, motivate and enlighten people to promote His Kingdom in South Sudan.
