South Sudan Human Right Commission and stakeholders on Tuesday discussed the implementation of the recommendations of Universal Periodic Review in Juba.
The Universal Periodic Review is a process which involves a evaluation of the human rights records of all UN Member States.
It provides the opportunity for each State to declare what actions they have taken to improve the human rights situations in their countries and to fulfill their obligations.
Justin Yaac, Acting Chairperson of South Sudan Human Right Commission told journalists that the forum will see the ways forward on the recommendations.
He says the government accepted 203 out of the total 233 recommendations and rejected 30 because it wants details about them.

Under the Universal Periodic Review, the human rights situation of all UN Member States is reviewed every five years.
42 states are reviewed each year during three Working Group sessions dedicated to 14 states each.
The aim is to improve the human rights situation in all countries and address violations wherever they occur.
