A Humanitarian Organization known as War Child Canada, has started giving seeds to hundreds of farmers in Torit County.
The seeds include groundnut and short variety sorghum to help local farmers produce food and fight starvation, Radio Emmanuel reports.
Valentino White Oting an officer says his organization is responding to the needs of farmers to increase food security.
A farmer Oryem Joseph has received 25 kilograms of groundnuts and sorghum.
He notes that the seeds have come at a right time.
Rosa James another beneficiary believes the little seeds distributed will be able to produce more food.
Isaac Aliardo, First Director General in the State Ministry of Agriculture advises farmers not to consume the seeds because they contain dangerous chemicals.
Aliardo thanks the Humanitarians organization for supporting the citizens of Imotong State to fight hunger.
He promises that his Ministry will continue advocating for food support from other Humanitarian agencies.
