Capacities of young Journalists need improvement, says UNESCO

The capacities of young journalists in the country needs upgrading, says Representative of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization or UNESCO in South Sudan.
 
Sardar Umar Alam acknowledges that journalists are facing economic hardship apart from issues of insecurity in the country, Radio Bakhita reports.
 
He says UNESCO is discussing with other partners to accomplish the best way of putting media laws into action.
 
There are still issues of restrictions and Journalists being arrested and detained despite the country having the constitution in place, Umar observes.
 
The UNESCO Representative spoke to reporters during the World Press Freedom Day celebration in Juba on Wednesday.
