The training of community awareness on sexual gender-based violence concluded in Torit on Thursday.
The Action for Health Research and Development, a local organization, organized the two-day workshop, Radio Emmanuel reports.
The training was to increase knowledge and understanding of the community in addressing and how to quickly respond to cases in various locations.
Achomo Mary, Action for Health Research and Development focal person, says cases of sexual related abuses have become rampant in the town and the surrounding communities.
Participant, John Pawa Ben, is happy and ready to use the knowledge he acquired on gender-based abuses.
Another participant, Pauline Amuna, says now that she has the knowledge; she will be able to help her community report about gender-based abuses.
The training targets communities of Torit, Magwi and Lafon.
