A Member of the National Parliament representing Wanalel constituency encourages people of Tonj State and South Sudan in general to embark on agriculture to fight hunger.

Ayek Yaac says WFP will help only those who lost their crops to natural calamities such as drought or flood, Radio Don Bosco reports.

She hopes that the national government requested United Nations World Food Program to provide relief food to the people affected by the famine.

Ayuek adds that UN food should be used for work, but would not be distributed every year.

The MP cautions that South Sudan will only grow when everyone works hard and not to depend on foreign aid.

Ayuek advises the youth to stop killing and looting so that farmers cultivate without fear.

The MP made the comments on Wednesday during her visit to Tonj.
