The Internally Displaced Persons or IDPs who took refuge in Wau Episcopal Church have expressed worry over government’s decision to move them to Masana Taaleeb.

They fear that civilians are still targeted and killed in the area, Radio Voice of Hope reports.

The IDPs lament that they were displaced in their respective areas due to the conflict and decided to move to the Episcopal Church for protection.

They reject the government’s decision to move them out of the church premises.

The IDPs suggest UNMISS protection cites for their safety rather than Masana Taaleeb.

Responding to the IDPs, Wau town Mayor Mel Alue Goc claims that the place is secure because the government has made all the necessary arrangements.

He says police forces have been deployed in the new location to patrol and control any insecurity or criminal activity.

Alue stresses that no compromise to the government’s decision because it will care for the IDPs and offer their daily needs.

He assures that the municipality is ready to move the IDPs in the coming two days.

Alue warns citizens to be far away from political issues.
