South Sudan NGO Forum and partners intend to organize a memorial service in April to honour aid workers killed while providing humanitarian aid since 2013.

The Forum in a statement says the date and details of the service will be communicated to give the public an opportunity to light candles to pay their respects.

The Forum will reaffirm all commitment towards peace and tranquility in South Sudan.

It confirms that the number of aid workers killed since 2013 rose to over 70.

It says thousands of lives have been lost including many aid workers who were killed while providing humanitarian assistance.

It serves and facilitates the work of its members to address the humanitarian and development needs in South Sudan.

All member organizations are registered with the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission and collectively operate in over 90 locations across the country.
