The minister of Local Government in Tonj State tells chiefs not to drink alcohol or face punishment.

Sabino Makana Akol warns that legal procedures will be taken against any chief found under alcohol influence, Radio Don Bosco reports.

He threatens that those chiefs found drunk would be removed from their positions.

Makana says chiefs are not allowed to loiter in the town without any reason, but should remain in their respective Payams.

The Minister also tells chiefs to dress well so that their people respect them and be example to others.

The political leader made the remarks on Saturday during his visit to four counties.
