Eastern Equatoria members of referendum subcommittees were urged to work hard for the success of the plebiscite on self-determination for Southern Sudan.

Eastern Equatoria acting governor Otim Karlo was at the swearing in ceremony of referendum subcommittees in Torit yesterday.

Mr. Otim said the success of the referendum depended on the diligence of the subcommittees members.

He advised them to work as teams.

Southern Sudan Referendum Bureau Chairperson, Justice Chan Reec Madut, presided over the swearing in of forty referendum committees’ members.

Mr. Reec asked for a quick identification of referendum centres and the formation of centre committees saying the selection must be gender balanced.
