Eastern Equatoria deputy speaker condemned Southern Sudanese campaigning for unity saying they do not have any reason to support their oppressors.

Paul Napwon told Emmanuel Radio that working for the unity of Sudan was to praise those who kept Southerners in the bondage of slavery for many decades.

He added that the referendum should devolve dignity to the Southerners.

Mr. Napwon said he did not understand how some Southerners forgot the relatives who lost their lives during many decades of marginalization and accepted money from the NCP to campaign for unity.

The deputy speaker said that freeing south Sudan from the bondage of slavery through independence was the only patriotic gesture honouring the liberators who lost their lives during the struggle.

Mr. Napwon urged Southerners to take advantage of the referendum in order to achieve the peaceful determination of their destiny.
