GOSS SEEKS SUPPORT IN KEY DEVELOPMENTAL FACTORS

The government of south Sudan presented its seven key factors to the Joint Donor Team JDT on Friday in Brussels.
The factors are vital for a successful independent or unified nation.

Michael Elmquist, JDT head of office in south Sudan revealed the latter to the press.

He said GoSS minister of Finance, David Deng Athorbei who headed the GoSS delegation explained that his government had concentrated on developing a package of legislation, currency establishment incase south Sudan becomes an independent state and regulating and monitoring oil sectors.

The other factors include peer learning on macro-economic issues, training new recruits at Dr. John Garang training academy, customs functioning and oil revenue management.

Mr. Elmquist affirmed that JDT will focus its support on the suggested key priorities of the government of south Sudan.

Mr. Elmquist said the JDT will support the government by providing expertise and financial resources.
He mentioned that minister Deng called upon the JDT to use the expertise from the Diaspora.

The JDT includes aid from Canada, Denmark, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
