The Minister of Labour, Public Service and Human Resource Development in Central Equatoria State and a delegation of the State Workers’ Trade Union led by its Secretary for Foreign Affairs on Tuesday discussed issues pertaining the long awaited promotion of the state civil servants.

The discussion included among other issues the promotion of state civil servants, the ongoing file assessment of the pensioners, training of staff and scholarships for the education sector.

The Director of Pensions, Kenneth Loboka, said file scrutiny is progressing well and waits for final auditing by the National Pension Fund Committee expected in Juba after the Ramadan holiday.

Minister Stephen Lemi Lokuron said the State Council of Ministers agreed on the promotion of the employees and new employment.

He called upon the senior staff to include the employees of the Civil Authority of the New Sudan (CANS) in the process of the pensioners’ files assessment.

Mr. Lemi directed the transfer of the deducted pension from the current workforce to be channeled to the Ministry of Public Service instead of Finance.
