The Salesians of Don Bosco said their major priority in all the dioceses of the Sudan is to engage the youth in various activities that develop their capacity.
The Salesians of Don Bosco arrived Juba in 2006 and were given the responsibility of Saint Vincent De Paul Parish in Gumbo.
Fr. Dominic Padinjaraparambil is the Director of Salesian congregation in southern Sudan and the Parish Priest of Saint Vincent De Paul’s Parish in Gumbo.
He told SCR News that the Charism of Salesian fathers is for the youth which drives them to work for them.
Fr. Dominic explained that the Salesians would cater for the youth in the parishes in a more special way to help them build their capacity in all aspects of life.
Fr. Dominic said his congregation is planning to build a vocational training institute, primary school and secondary school among other projects in Gumbo.
The Salesian fathers recently established a new community in Mundri, Western Equatoria.
They have a big community presence in Khartoum and El-Obeid.
