The southern Sudan youth forum for separation seriously condemned the call fro unity of the country by the newly appointed minister of oil in the government of National Unity.
On Sunday Lual Deng made a statement during an interview with the London based Al-Sharq-Al Awsat news paper during his private visit to Washington that unity is a better option for Southern Sudanese.

In a press conference this afternoon in Juba, David Amuor, the Secretary General for southern Sudan youth forum for separation condemned Mr. Deng’s called for unity.

Mr. Amuor explained that Deng’s statement is a personal view because he does not represent any group in southern Sudan.

Mr. Amuor warned anybody and any civil society organization against squeezing the objectives of the referendum for personal gain.

Mr. Deng is the first high profile Southern figure to publicly express his support for the unity of the country ahead of a self-determination referendum due to take place early next year.
