The ongoing peace dialogues among sections of Rup, Kuei and Pakam will end the inter-communal conflicts in Rumbek Center and North Counties, say authorities.

Rumbek Center Commissioner Mawet Manuer testifies that both groups expressed willingness to reconcile and live together again, Radio Good News reports.

He was part of the peace monitoring team that met youth from the three communities at the cattle camps early this week.

The recent drop in criminal activities such as night raids in Rumbek town, road ambushes and revenge killings are indicators that peace is becoming real, the Commissioner points out.

Jieng Youth Union peace and reconciliation campaigns target all conflicting communities in Lakes State.
