Yei Municipality Mayor has maintained that any cell station selling fuel at nine South Sudanese Pounds will be arrested and jailed.
Silvano Ali Sanguson warns that the municipality will confiscate operation documents of stubborn fuel dealers and close their stations, Radio Easter reported.
He says ‘no one should come from Juba to sell his/her goods in Yei at high prices’.
Mayor Ali asserts that any deal to hike fuel price will not work with the administration of Yei River County, saying citizens should buy diesel at seven South Sudanese Pounds and petrol at 7.5 Pounds.
The Mayor urges masses to celebrate South Sudan Independence Day in peace in their Payams or Bomas if they may not be in position to reach Lainya County for the state celebration.
Mayor Ali was speaking at Christ the King Cathedral on Sunday.
