The Catholic diocesan high delegation visiting striking staff members of St Theresa Nzara Hospital says the church is not able to increase salaries due to budget line.

Diocesan Human Resource Manager Joseph Ziazia Kanido explains that there is only a provision for cost of living allowances, continuing until US Dollar exchange rates and high commodity prices drop to normal, Radio Anisa reported.

The high delegation on Friday appreciated Nzara Hospital staff for great work done, encouraging them to continue rendering service to communities.

Diocesan Health Deputy Manager Fr Justin Gizaza says the church is working on formation of a board of governance to address staff and hospital problems.

He confirms that the hospital staff members are now in full swing service after an assurance that their plights will be addressed.

Vicar-General Monsignor Anthony Bangoye hails the previously striking staff for returning to work, urging them to love their job and follow right procedures to claim rights.
