Yei River County Civil Society Organizations’ Forum criticizes Yei Administration’s threat to expel unproductive nongovernmental organizations or NGOs saying it is not a solution.

Civil Society Organizations’ Forum Vice Chairperson Mawa George Lazarus demands for mutual understanding and partnership between government and NGOs, Radio Easter reported.

He argues that expelling NGOs creates unemployment, calling on government and nongovernmental organizations to conduct regular coordination meetings to create confidence and transparency on performance.

Mr George explains that most NGOs have strict policies in budget verification and that their operations are easily monitored and evaluated by naked eyes.

The activist appeals for revelation of annual plans in accordance with citizens’ most pressing needs.

The Forum leader made the remarks on Friday following Yei Administration’s threat to expel what it terms unproductive NGOs.
