Minister says UN-based IDPs to face law in court

Justice Minister and the United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS head after meeting on Tuesday in Juba resolved that penal code would apply to Internally Displaced Persons or IDPs who commit offenses in UN civilians’ protection sites.
 
Paulino Wanawilla Unango says they agreed that IDPs would be taken to court for judgment for whatever offenses they do in the camp after their crimes are studied for the law to take it cost.
 
Deputy UNMISS Chief Moustapha Soumaré says they agreed to execute the legal frame work the Mission UNMISS and the national government signed to bring all offenders to justice.
 
The two speakers talked to the press in Juba after meeting on modalities of taking the IDPs to court.
