Bishop Abangite College of Science and Technology staff on Tuesday welcomed the inauguration of a new science laboratory donated by Jesuit Refugee Service or JRS.

Bishop Barani Edwardo Hiiboro Kusala during the ceremony thanked the Jesuits for the donation, saying the dreams of the late Bishop Gasi came true with the laboratory to make a dynamic science school in the diocese.

He called on students to love sciences and take care of the laboratory, wishing them the best education.

College Principal Fr Joseph Migidi thanked the Jesuit for renovating the laboratory and availing apparatus and chemicals.

He said 265 girls are among 835 students registered this academic year and 172 candidates would benefit from the new laboratory.

Chemistry teacher Pangu William Akuchaku expressed satisfaction of the laboratory and that it would enhance more practical teaching of science subjects, complaining that many important items are still missing in it.

Parent representative Peter Mbia welcomed the laboratory, urging parents to support their boys and girls equally at the College.
