National Education Minister on Thursday apologized for late admission of 5010 students to public universities out of 9211 Bachelor Degree and Diploma applicants for 2012/2013 intake.

John Gai Yoh told journalists in Juba while announcing the admission results on Thursday that the ministry had financial, technical and administrative problems in running the admission process.

He observed that only 21 percent female applicants for Bachelor Degree and Diploma courses got admission compared to 79 percent male counterparts admitted to public universities of Juba, Upper Nile, Bahr El Ghazal, Rumbek and Dr John Garang.

The Minister added that series of engagement with striking university lecturers seem to be producing agreement on normal operation of public universities soon.
